Rachael has over 12 years of experience in the NZ financial services industry and is passionate about helping people achieve the dream of home ownership.
Her journey began when she purchased her first home as a self-employed single parent—long before the days of KiwiSaver. With the support of one of her sisters and a helping hand from the ‘Bank of Mum and Dad,’ she successfully stepped onto the property ladder. That experience sparked a deep interest in the mortgage industry, and she soon began working alongside her own mortgage adviser.
After five years in the industry, Rachael took the next step in her career by leading the mortgage department at ILG, delivering comprehensive financial solutions to clients. Following another five successful years, she chose to take her business to new heights. Today, she is proud to be part of Wealthpoint as a Director of The Smart Advice Collective, continuing her mission to help clients purchase their first home, upgrade to their next, or invest in property.
Rachael brings unique value to her clients through her hands-on experience in property investment both in Auckland and across regional New Zealand, as well as her background as a licensed real estate salesperson. Although she is based in Auckland, she works with clients nationwide.
Her philosophy is simple: everyone deserves the opportunity to repay their mortgage as efficiently as possible—without compromising their lifestyle. She believes working with a mortgage-focused financial adviser can help clients save both time and money.
Whether it’s setting up the right structure for a first home purchase, restructuring an existing mortgage, or delivering expert advice through her online masterclass for first-home buyers, Rachael is committed to simplifying the mortgage process. Her calm, clear approach helps clients feel empowered and confident—even when the journey can seem overwhelming.
She is thrilled to have joined forces with fellow Financial Adviser Sarah Cavanagh (specialising in personal insurances) to create The Smart Advice Collective.
Outside of work, Rachael is a proud mother and grandmother who enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She’s also passionate about waka ama (outrigger canoe paddling) and loves to travel.
