Malcolm is currently a Director of Malcolm Carr Financial Services and is a Financial Adviser. He started his insurance career with AMP in 1981 as an agent, then spent some years as an agency manager in the South Island and in Auckland. His insurance management experience also included working for other life companies for a short time in the late 1980s.

In 1998 Malcolm again became an adviser, aligned to AMP, and specialised in Life insurance, general insurance, and KiwiSaver. Malcolm has maintained his current practicing certificate along with ongoing regular training, keeping up to date with the industry as it changes.

Malcolm has maintained his close business relationships with his clients for many years, and some clients have become close friends.

In the last five years, Malcolm and his family have moved to Flaxmill bay in the Coromandel and more recently have moved into his own office on the corner of Albert Street in Whitianga.

Malcolm enjoys boating and sailing around Mercury Bay and surrounding areas and has a great love for music, where he is a keen piano player.
